Family by definition is a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit. While that is a traditional family unit, not all “families” look like this. Today, families come in all shapes and sizes. There is more to family than blood and a name. What makes a family is love, honor, respect, loyalty, forgiveness, togetherness, strength, joy, and covenant just to name a few. It’s showing up and standing beside each other in the calm of the day or in the loneliness of the night.
Family is someone you can call at 4:00 a.m. too sad to even say hello and the person on the other end listens to your silence until you fall asleep. Families are made up of people who want you in their lives as much as you want them in yours.
